The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) will onboard more than 30 lakh to 40 lakh small businesses on the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in the next three to six months. SIDBI will work in conjunction with 500 to 600 small and big industry associations across the country, said S Ramann, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI on Monday. "It is our dream to bring onboard more than 30 lakh to 40 lakh small businesses which are today supplying to larger businesses, and get them to have a chance to expand their markets and reach new buyers," said Ramann. He was speaking at an event in New Delhi's ONDC headquarters. On the business-to-customer side, ONDC chief executive T Koshy said while the grocery and food and beverages sectors see about 15,000 retail orders daily, the mobility sector sees 35,000 to 40,000 rides in Kochi and Bengaluru everyday.
