San Francisco-headquartered business messaging platform Gupshup will launch today a WhatsApp chatbot for buyer apps on the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
The company is not entering the business-to-customer (B2C) market. It is replicating the buyers' experience through WhatsApp.
It will enable buyers to use WhatsApp to discover, browse and buy products from sellers across the ONDC network, without needing to download any other mobile app. The company also plans to offer this product to its enterprise customers who want to integrate this into their chatbots. It has operations in India, the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.
